RG Char's Zaku II (Done!)

Got a short time to take pics of the Zaku II (and forced to end it when my cam's battery runs out XD)
Lost several decals here and there due of posing, but I had fun ^^

Back

Finally, the job's done ^^
let's pray so I don't have to make some revisions :P

Here's some shots of my RG RX 78-2
Not too much pose though. Coz I'm too afraid to ruin the decals (it's not coated yet :P)

 The 'realistic decals' is nice.
Thinner and sturdier than regular decals, with several metallic tones here and there.

 Awkward pose -__-
The skirt parts fall easily, and the ankle joints aren't too tight...
And the peg on the beam sword didn't fit with the arm's peg hole :P

The bazooka is nice.

incominggg....

en garde...

for some reason, for me, one of the most remembered part of gundam is the shield...
big red stretched hexagon plate with yellow stars.

remember this epic pose? ^^

 Setsuna: "Get lost gramps!"
Amuro: "Gramps? I came from the future. Do the math!"

 dont forget our little fella'

run out of gundam marker here.. so, no panel linings  :(

Well, this is my first RX 78-2 model after all those years building gunpla.
The design is old (of course), but this new RG line really hides that fact. With those new inner frame design and articulations, I felt like having a PG miniature.
Of course its not as sturdy as the PG line and I have to move the joints with extra cautions.

Drawbacks: some parts easily fell off, the hip and ankle joints are a bit loose (maybe it's just mine)

RG RX 78-2 WIP3

Finally! All parts complete! ^__^

 Hands parts
Hand articulations. Superb, just like the legs.
That moving triceps armor reminds me of PG Strike arms.

Head parts. Quite detail, just like MG.
Even the yellow vulcans are separated.
I had a hard time with the eyes' stickers though.

Helloo there gramps  ^^!

Beam rifle parts
not much, but not as simple as usual HG rifles

Beam rifle

Bazooka parts
some parts remind me of Sinanju's bazooka and Ball's cannon :D

Bazooka

Shield parts
Simple...

The shield can dock the rifle and beam sabers
cool ^_^

Additional hands
two joints on all fingers? Wow!

Core fighter's parts

Nice little ship ^^
The cockpit can be opened!

Approximately 4 cm in length, and 3 cm in width

Folded core fighter

You can change the 'fake' gray core fighter with the real one
without sacrificing the waist articulation.
Any idea how to paint that tiny Amuro?
I gave up already >_<
Gundam  RX 78-2 complete!
Its design is a bit old-fashioned, but still menacing
(if you pose it properly of course!)

The hand can reach the beam saber at the backpack
(Ooops, I forgot to take pic of the beam sabers. But they're strangely long.
Even taller than the mobile suit itself!)

With all of its weapons: beam swords, beam rifle, shield, and bazooka.
But no spear and the morning star ~___~

I like this angle
Next: adding panel lines and stickers
frankly, I'm a bit lazy to do it, hahaha...

A little surprise:
Got this package today
Another pre-ordered item that came late
I don't even know what it is when I received it
(Jeez, how many item I pre-ordered last year? I should be more thrifty)

RG RX 78-2 WIP2

Managed to finish the waist and body ^_^ V

Crotch's parts.
The front and back armors are identical
and see those tiny red part?
One sneeze is enough to blow it to nowhere...

Waist's parts

 Lower body complete!

Body & backpack parts.
I never built an RX 78 before,
so I wonder how the core fighter will fit into that body?
The backpack has amazing detail & part separations
...and dangerously small parts too

Front body

The backpack

Only the arms, head, and weapons left...

RG RX 78-2 WIP1

Two days to build the legs? hahaha
I'm really busy with my other stuffs, so yeah, the progress is very slow.
I don't know if I can finish it this week, but I'll try.
Besides, after building 1/100 scale models for so long, 1/144 scale feels very small in my hand.
41 parts, only for one leg! And many of them are smaller  than my fingernail.
It took me almost one hour to cut, clean, and build each of them :(

Without the panel lines, the legs seemed plain and bulky,
but the color separations add quite nice details for them.

This is the articulations for the legs.
Impressive!

RG RX 78-2 Get!!!

Finally, my 1st RG arrived! ^__^
Why RX 78-2? Not much choices for RG model though.
It's the only model available when I ordered it four months ago.
Yup! Four months ago. Why so long?
I don't really know why, but it looks like my usual seller got some  problem
with the shipping process, customs, holidays, yada..yada..yada..
Now let's see what we've got here...

One manual booklet, ten runners, one sheet of 'realistic' decal/stickers.
I didn't get the blue stand base ~_~
I think that's a bonus for the first batch. Aww.. never mind...

Two tone of red and white color!
And the so called 'realistic' decal/sticker was a great addition (and will give me a hard time for sure)

This is the most interesting parts.
Pre-cast inner frame for the legs, body, arms, even the palms! Just like the Perfect Grade's palms.
I wonder how they work and how much articulation they had in those tiny frames

 Well, that's all for now.
Let's hope I can find some spare time this weekend to start building it
^__^
