AFAX Loot

Last month is the festive time for South East Asia anime & manga fans. AFAX was being held in Singapore few weeks back. It's a great time, and this year here're my loot! ^^

I bought 8 (cheap) figure boxes, 2 Gundam 00, 4 Evangelion and 2 One Piece. They are what you can say surprise boxes. You'll get one random figure out of 4-5 figures available for one box ^^

And so here's the story of my lucky and not so lucky figures..

For one piece I got Usopp and sanji..! I was hoping for at least one girl either Nami or Robin. But Usopp is okay, he got some accessories (staff) included. Sanji, well not so lucky ^^

And last Gundam 00! The luckiest fig is of course Setsuna! XD Also I got Soma Peries, well hoping for tieria since I got Virtue, but maybe i'm asking to much ^^

The Dark Knight

Another Saber? Why not?
Figma Saber was one of my favorite figure. Smart, sharp, and not too sexy.
Except for her skirt that restrict her legs articulations (and the paint), she's good.

When the Alter version released, I said to my self, "Why not?"
I don't have many 'dark' characters in my disposal though.
She'll be a nice addition (and cool sparring partner for Seiba too ^__^)

I got her last week.
She came with two face (normal and shouting), two hair (normal and blown), and the Dark Excalibur. Not much eh? The original Saber got Caliburn and Excalibur, both with their own scabbards. She also got extra hands (open, close, gripping something, pointing, inviting) and two gripping hands that pointing forward (like Shana's).

I love her color. Paler skin, dark metallic bluish and purplish armor. Quite menacing.
Her sculpts are sharp. Watch your fingers. Really.

The visor is quite funny for me. It looks like a piece of paper that sticked to her hair.
Too far from the eyes, and a bit too high.

Is she a bit taller and more proportioned than the regular Saber? ^___^

So, is she worthy? I can say 'Yes'. Better proportion, slightly better articulations, nice color scheme, a cool female dark knight. If only she got more accessories and not-too-straight eyes on her faces (Original Saber got three faces with rolled eyes), she'll be perfect.

Nothing special though, just fooling around with my cam after photoshooting the Ball.

My action figure collection hasn't grow lately, due to the budget :P
But last week I ordered one die-cast bike just for fun, and voila! My figmas can (sort of) ride it! ^_^

(If Cloud rode a Hardy Daytona, this Sephiroth-like chick has a Ducati, hahaha)

One more thing, actually I'm not collecting 'Moe' things. Girls in maid or bunny costume are cute, loli girls are sweet, but I prefer more 'mature' and 'cool' characters to collect. Like Saber, Kan-U, Canaan, or Shana. (some will said that Shana is a 'loli', but for me, the long katana gave her a cool look ^_^)

Mobile Pod Ball Ver. Ka

It's been a while since my last post here.
A lot happened, but I managed to build this kit with my spare time.
So, here it is: The Ball ^__^

I bought this kit just for the sake of it's price. The cheapest MG out there.
It also has that 'unique' design, simple form, easy and quite straight to be build
(but I need more than a month to finish it, hahaha).

Not much to be said about this kit though,It has round shape, two 'hands', three booster, and openable cockpit. And don't forget, millions of decals as Ver.Ka trademarks.
Errr.. not that much actually, but I need a whole weekend to use all of them on this kit.

I painted the inner frame a little with tamiya enamel paint & citadel paint. Can't stand seeing those complex design in plain dark gray color. But finally, all covered by the armor XD

Arios Gundam Designer Color (WIP 1)

Just a quick look on the runners inside before I start nipping them all..

A gaze into the picture on the right, brings me an idea to customize the kit.. (hint: Allelujah/Hallelujah) ^^

New Project: Arios Gundam Designer Color

Hey guys! how r u all? :)

Since I'm (almost) finished with the Kshatriya (left with decals n top coat), and to put a healthy competition with my fellow Arrel :D I decided to buy myself the next project :D If you know me, it won't be faraway from Gundam 00 series ;p After doing a bit eye-shopping in the net (especially dalong.net), I decided to buy 1/100 Arios Gundam Designer color! XD

Here's what makes me drools over:

• From 00 series (of course!)
• Nice color (softer color than the normal version)
• Got loads of sticker for the extra touch up (looks like decals in a quick look)
• Good articulation (based on dalong's review)
• Gonna be my first transformable Gundam! XD
• Has LED for the eyes, coool! :D
• Fit automatically to my gundam story project XD
• hmm what else..?

New Temptations

Yaaaay, I've got two ba.. ehrrr.. two new kits.

MG Ball ver.Ka & MG Dragon Ball - Super Saiyan Son Gokou.
Got it faster than I expected, just when I want to start building the Hi Nu this weekend... :P
This MG Ball was part of Bandai's clear part campaign for it's 30th Gunpla B'day. So, it has extra runner with clear outer armor. Interesting, isn't it?

The Ball is very simple and Gokou is quite 'new' (I never build organic kit before).
Very tempting... to abandon the Hi Nu... hahaha

Let's see ...
I obtained my first plamo at the age of eight or nine, an 'Vrlitwhai Ship' from the Macross series (At that moment I didn't even know what Macross is). When I started my college life, I buy some Evangelion kit after watching the anime. Built, played, and eventually destroyed.

My first gunpla was Gundam Wing ver.Ka. When I saw the box, it's like love at the first sight, and I completely forgot what was actually in my shopping list: RD 1:60 Freedom Gundam. Hahaha

Then I bought some more gunpla, stop building for a while (collecting revoltech & figma figures instead), and since 12 months ago start building gunpla again.

Despite having more than a dozen of plamo at my disposal, I'm still a noob. I just snap n fit my gunpla, do the panel linings, and finished with a clear top coat. That's enough for me. That was fun. And that's what a hobby should be, right? Fun time. Not a messy desk, boredom while building a 'cool' project, or pressure to make a perfect model kit.

Several months ago, I bought bootleg gunplas to learn how to paint (I'm not proud about buying bootleg products, but I don't want to use my 70 bucks gunpla as a guinea pig, hahaha). The results were quite good for my own standards, so I thought I could start painting my original gunpla.
Oh, yesterday I just finished painting my bootleg Destiny EBM.

Some people say, "You can buy any gunpla that you want. But unfortunately, you can't buy the time needed to make it." It's true! I still have 3 MG (Sinanju, Hi Nu, Zeta Karaba, plus two more on the way) to be built.

Which one should I build first? You pick. Sinanju or Hi Nu? Karaba removed from the list, because I've made a Zeta before. And the other two won't come till the end of this month.
